What seems lacking in our consideration of Jesus Christ coming to this world is that He came to end one line of humanity and begin another, a "second mankind".
The first man Adam is on his way out in full and complete finality. The Second Man...Christ is to be established as God's Sovereign Co-regent in the age to come....and this mankind is eternal.
All religion, politics(local, regional, national and international), justice systems, education systems, economic systems, etc, have no or limited value to the "New Creation". Let us take the justice system for an example. Scripture tells us specifically in Romans 13 that the power invested in these offices are ordained by God. Such as police, prosecutors, judges, etc. are given to restrain Adam's fallen nature so mankind can have a semblance of peace and order. The civil law has no value to create righteousness, it can only restrain unrighteousness and moderate Adamic mankind's behavior. Actually, the Scripture tells us the law was not given for the righteous, but the unrighteous. I Timothy 1:8-11
It's the same for politics, education, economics, etc, no or limited value. Education for example; "For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world. Cor. 1:19-20 "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools." Rom. 1:22
Sadly, much of the church has been duped into frothing and foaming over all those things aforementioned which are all going to pass away. ! John 2:15-17, II Peter 3:11
God is solely invested in harvesting His "New Creation Mankind" from the Adamic host. All the systems mentioned above are used to equip, prepare and protect by restraint Adam until God fills His table, a number only He knows.
The church's mandate is to co-labor with God in His "Eternal Purpose". "According to the eternal purpose He has accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord." Eph 3:11 We could be a teacher, a banker, a politician, a police officer or judge, but all that is secondary to the primary purpose.
I believe we have been duped into trying to save the world vs rescue people from it and this present evil age. Selah!!
Most Christians seem to believe Jesus came to patch Adam up and restore his mandate. So those who lead in this misconception teach we are to restore and take dominion over what God gave Adam.
What Jesus actually came to do was start a New Humanity and restore those New Creations back to the Image and Likeness of God. As a matter of fact, we have been predestined to this very thing(Rom. 8:29). This work will completely culminate at the Resurrection when the "Last Enemy is destroyed" and Jesus presents the "New Humanity" to His Father.
Peter tells us at the return of the Lord Jesus and the resurrection, that which was given to Adam to govern will be completely destroyed even to its basic elemental level. He goes on to say God will, according to His promise create a New Heaven and Earth where-in only the righteous will dwell. II Pet 3
"And furthermore, it is not angels who will control the future world we are talking about." Heb. 2:5
Here Paul tells us he is talking about the age to come and that future world. The next verses tell us it is MAN, the Christ Man-kind that shall rule and reign with Christ.
