"That in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him." Eph.1:10
This term "In Him" carries important meaning, not only for us as believers now, but for eternity as well.
The Bible is the story about Man, Anthropology, but in this incredible drama, there are really two MEN, Adam and Christ.
We all begin in Adam, he is the federal head of all humanity, all humans originated from that one mans seed. The problem that happened to Adam is he disobeyed God and listened to Satan and that corrupted him including his seed-children. That meant all his progeny, all his children were vitiated or corrupted with a nature of sin and disobedience. This whole line of humanity, the Adam line was irreparably corrupted.
Christ came into this human line, not through the corrupted Adamic seed, but the incorrupted Seed of the Holy Spirit conceiving within the womb of the Virgin Mary.
"And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God." Luke 1:35
What Jesus Christ was going to do was legally and vitally end the Adamic line of humanity on the cross of Calvary.
"So it is written, The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit." ! Cor. 15:45
Jesus is the LAST Adam, He finished that line of humanity, and began a New Creation line of Mankind at the resurrection. He is the Firstborn from the dead. He is the Federal Head of the Second Man{kind}.
"The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven." I Cor. 15:47 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By faith when we accept what Christ did for us, not only are our sins washed away, but we are delivered out of Adam and translated into Christ. We are no longer (In Adam), we are now (In Christ).
"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son." Col. 1:13
We have been supernaturally transferred from being, in Adam, the rejected Son, the cursed, corrupted, condemned One. Adam was rejected, shut out, he was the one God was displeased with, in his corrupted nature he can never be allowed access to the Tree of Life.
But now we are out of Adam and into Christ, the Beloved Son in whom God is well pleased, "we have been accepted in the Beloved." Eph 1:6 We are blessed, chosen, forgiven, predestined, holy and without blame before God in love, we are sealed and have an inheritance in Christ forever.
Now may the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, he eyes of our understanding being enlightened.
WE ARE IN HIM!!
